Both Buffalo policemen accused of pushing a 75 year old man to the ground pleaded not guilty to second-degree assault, according to reports.
Suspended Buffalo Police Officers Robert McCabe and Aaron Torgalski were arraigned Saturday morning and released without bail, according to CNN. Both cops left the Erie County courthouse to the sound of cheers by fellow officers – all of whom had resigned from the Emergency Response Team “in disgust.”
Martin Gugino, 75, described as a “longtime peace activist,” was hospitalized with a head injury. Mayor Byron Brown has since stated that Gugino was “an agitator. “
Many of the officers were critical of the comments made by both the Governor and US Senator Schumer.
