On Sunday, Nov. 11, the Lake Shore Country Club housed the 9th Annual Lots to the Tots event, raising money to purchase toys and gifts for children in need this holiday season.
“Overall, I am quite pleased with the outcome of the event. I wish attendance had been higher, but that will give me something to really focus my energy on next year for our 10th annual,” event coordinator, Christine Lemcke said. “We had such an amazing group of vendors supporting our cause, our volunteers consisting of family, long time friends and new friends were fantastic and helped to make the event run smoothly, the generosity we saw from local businesses in putting together our silent auction and raffles was the best I have seen yet.”
With a room full of local vendors, live music, raffles, a silent auction, and full-size casino tables, there was something for everyone.
In the aftermath of Toys R Us’s closing, Toys for Tots lost one of their biggest corporate sponsors and a significant source of funding.
“We are well aware that we cannot replace this funding, but if we can increase our donation at all that would be a help to them as they provide for children in need across six counties,” Lemcke stated.
All of the profits from the Veteran’s Day Lots to the Tots event will assist the Marine’s Toys for Tots campaign.
