AVON – Five local teenagers who know each other were involved in a collision at the intersection of Fowlerville Road and Boyd Road Tuesday night.
According to first responders on scene, the silver car and red car were westbound on Fowlerville Road when the silver car swerved to avoid a deer a few minutes after 7 p.m. The red car, which was allegedly following too closely, rear-ended the silver car.
The male driver and sole occupant of the silver car and two males in the red car suffered minor injuries. Two females in the red car were not injured.
The three males were transported to the hospital.
Within minutes, the parents of several involved parties arrived at the scene.
Livingston County Sheriff’s Deputy Connor Sanford ticketed the driver of the red car for Following Too Closely and operating on a DJ license with more than one person under age 21 in the car. Deputy Jason Butterbrodt assisted with the investigation.
No drugs or alcohol is alleged to have been a factor.
Firefighters with the East Avon Fire Department responded to the scene alongside ambulance crews with Avon EMS. The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office investigated.
