NYLON– The 20th running of the Karknocker 5K will benefit the Finger Lakes Regional Burn Association, a partnership established just last year.
The Karknocker 5K will take place Friday, July 28. The East Rochester Chamber of Commerce sponsors and puts on the race.
“I’ve been involved with the Chamber for 6 or 7 years,” said Communications Director MaryBeth Lovejoy. “The Chamber sponsors the race, and puts it together. We also coordinate the volunteers.”
The race draws in a good crowd, offering prize money to top finishers. Lovejoy said the race also added a walking category just last year, allowing the choice for participants to run, or walk the course.
The 5K course is USATF certified, and will have $2000 in cash prizes to split among race winners. You can pre register here , or register day of at the event. The race will begin at 7 PM.
