DANSVILLE – New York State awarded the Dansville Central School District to expand its Pre-Kindergarten Early Learning Program to include 3-year-old children.
According to a press release from Dansville Central School District, this funding aims to support the expansion of Pre-K as part of the State’s ongoing
efforts to promote early education, specifically in high-need districts, and improve the academic future for all students.
The State awarded school districts based on the quality of the application and other factors, including district and student need, efforts to target the highest need students, and efforts to maximize total number of children served in Pre-Kindergarten programs.
The program will run at Dansville Primary School from February 2017 to the end of the school year. School officials are finalizing transportation arrangements, hiring personnel and preparing for the children’s nutritional needs. There will be half-day sessions for 3-year-old Pre-K.
Spaces for the program are limited. Anyone who would like to add their child’s name to the application packet list should call the Dansville Primary School office at (585)335-4040.
