“Both occupants were home at the time of the fire,” said York Fire Chief Dustin Geiger. “One suffered minor burns and another suffered smoke inhalation. No one was transported by ambulance, but one occupant was transported by a personal vehicle.”

The house is a total loss.

The Livingston County Office of Emergency Management is investigating with the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office. Reporters saw a Livingston County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit at the scene.

The York, Caledonia, Cuylerville, Pavilion, and Mumford Fire Departments responded to the scene. The LeRoy and Avon Fire Departments set up fill sites on nearby roads to fill responding fire trucks. The East Avon Fire Department responded as a Firefighter Assist and Search Team (FAST team) to stand by in case of a firefighter emergency.

As of 8:26 p.m., Anderson Road is still closed as firefighters put out ‘hotspots’ of smoldering material and investigate.
