1812 store to reopen in ‘Spring

The 1812 Country Store on Main St., Hemlock, has recently been sold, and will reopen under new ownership this Spring.  The store has been a fixture in Hemlock for decades, as a tourist attraction and neighborhood meeting place; in the past, the store carried “penny” candy and baked goods, coffee, minatures, and handmade, vintage and antique items.  Currently, there is an online auction running of the inventory of the store which closed in the fall.  Above is a picture of the store as it appeared about 1985, under the ownership of Ruth Woodruff.

The auction for this piece of property ends February 23rd.
