The incident occurred at about 3:17 p.m., and a response by Avon Fire and EMS quickly got the boy away from the scene. The scene was clear and the boy was on his way to Strong Memorial Hospital by 3:45 p.m.
According to Livingston County Sheriff Deputies on scene, the 11-year-old was riding on an ATV when he collided with a tree stump near a ditch at the intersection, and was in stable condition when he left the scene. There is no indication that any tickets or charges are being issued at this time.
Given the young age of the victim and the severity of the crash, the original alarm call was taken very seriously. Good judgment and proper safety equipment should always be worn when riding offroad vehicles.
