GENESEO – The quiz masters among us will once again be put to the test as the Genesee Valley Quiz Night returns to the Big Tree Inn on Nov. 6.
According to a press release from the Livingston County Historical Society and the Friends of Wadsworth Library, Quiz Night was adapted from traditional British pub quiz nights, wherein teams of up to eight players compete against each other to answer questions selected from a variety of different categories from pop culture to science.
Questions cover a diverse array of subjects from pop culture and movies to obscure science trivia.
The Quiz begins with a ‘picture quiz’ followed by rounds of questions led by the Quiz Masters. Past players advise that diversity makes for a strong team so that a table with a mixture of ages and skills will have a greater chance of answering all of the questions correctly.
Winners will have their name affixed to the coveted Quiz Night trophy and will also receive a prize. We welcome teens and families to this fundraising event.
Players can form their own teams of up to eight players or simply sign up individually as ‘freelance’ and be sorted into a team.
You can purchase tickets online here, mail in a registration form available here, or register at Wadsworth Library on Second Street or the Livingston County Museum on Center Street. Early bird rates of $25 are available up until Oct. 26. The cost to participate is $30 after October 26, and walk-ins are welcome.
An optional buffet dinner of pasta, salad, bread, dessert, and beverage will be available between 6 p.m. and 6:30p.m. for an additional $15.
