MENS BASKETBALL: Knights Lose Close One

GENESEO — The SUNY Geneseo men's basketball team lost its second straight Saturday with a 68-62 defeat to Fredonia. John Decker scored a game-high 20 points for the Knights who led by more than 10 points at parts of the first half. Justin Ringen had 12 points and CJ Burke added 11 points for Geneseo. LEROY — The LeRoy boys' basketball team won big against Wheatland-Chili by the final score of 77-49 on Jan 9. Kaden Vangalio led all LeRoy players with 12 points while also getting three steals. GENESEO — The SUNY Geneseo men's hockey team played their first game in 2017 with a tie against Elmira on Saturday night. The game was scoreless until Ice Knight Andrew Romano scored at the 7:42 mark of the second period. The goal came on a rebound off a shot from Conlan Keenan. BUFFALO — The SUNY Geneseo men's hockey team fell to Buffalo State, 4-1, Saturday night. The Ice Knights had won their last five games going into Saturday. Buffalo had a 2-0 lead after the first. After a scoreless first period, Jack Ceglarski opened the scoring and the teddy bears came pouring at 7:26 of the second. Geneseo Men’s Hoops Off to Strong Start

The SUNY Geneseo men's basketball team is off to a strong start this season. They stand at 3-1 and are coming off a 103-93 win at Morrisville Nov. 22. Senior guard John Decker scored a career-high 41 points, giving him 117 on the season. Fellow senior guard Justin Ringin had 36 points of his own in the win. The Geneseo girls' volleyball team finished division play Monday evening with a win over Keshequa. Geneseo won in straight sets by the scores of 25-25-25 to 15-6-12.
